Luke Roberts

Luke studied drawing at the Julian Ashton School in Sydney and Fine Art at the Queensland College of Art, Griffith University, Brisbane. He received his Master of Fine Arts degree from Queensland University of Technology in 2001. From 1984-1987 he lived and worked in Europe. He was Australian Fellow and Artist in Residence at P.S.1, Contemporary Art Center, New York 1996-97. In 2002 he represented Australia at the Biennale of Sydney. His installation Mu Pavilion: Greetings from Amnesia was installed at the Museum of Contemporary Art. His work has featured in the 2nd Asia-Pacific Triennial, Queensland Art Gallery, Australian Perspecta 1991 & 1995, Art Gallery of New South Wales. In 1999 the Institute of Modern Art, Brisbane, published Vanitas; Pope Alice presents Luke Roberts, a monograph on his work. He had a solo show at the Institute of Modern Art in 1982 and also in 1996. He is currently represented by Milani Gallery, Brisbane and John Buckley Gallery, Melbourne.
